This article aims to explore how Human Rights Education (HRE) has been integrated into Professional and Technological Education within the integrated high school courses at the Federal Institute of Maranhão (IFMA), Monte Castelo Campus, between 2008 and 2023. The methodology employed is qualitative and based on a bibliographic review of scientific literature, supported by legislation on HRE and an analysis of course plans aligned with the curricular matrices of the integrated technical courses offered. The article is organized into three sections: first, it presents considerations on human rights education in Brazil. Next, it discusses HRE with an emphasis on redefining its role within basic-technological education. Finally, it highlights the essential role of HRE in Professional and Technological Education as a public policy.
